Anna Hart

Anna Hart studied architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture and the Architectural Association. Her practice concentrates on temporary and participatory interventions within the everyday, as an artist, commissioner and teacher. She is particularly concerned with the small scale, the local, the unannounced, and the unexpected. Alongside developing AIR, Anna leads a postgraduate design studio at the Department of Architecture, Oxford Brookes University.

AIR (Archway Investigations and Responses) is a projects studio at Byam Shaw School of Art. AIR introduces artists into the everyday of Archway, within the conversations, situations and institutions of an ordinary, and yet extraordinary, place, and encourages them to explore ideas without a definite outcome in mind.

The studio investigates and responds to the visible and invisible qualities and predicaments of Archway, engaging with its disparate communities, including residents, workers, passing commuters and incidental tourists, through hostings, temporary artworks, exhibitions, events and publications.

AIR is a partnership with Central St Martins Innovation with support from Higher Education Innovation Fund, Arts Council England, London Borough of Islington, Lazari Investments, Cocheme Charitable Trust, The Kobler Trust and Henry Moore Foundation.
