Dancing on the Peninsula

Dancing on the Peninsula took place on July 10th as part of Big Dance.

The choreographer Temujin Gill, six dance artists, and over fifty local children from Millennium and Halstow Primary Schools worked together to create a site specific dance celebration. The culmination of their work took place in a performance in Peninsula Square. The dance explored the themes of sustainability, regeneration and the natural and built environment.

The film of the project, 5 a day! made by Roswitha Chesher will be screened at a later date. Dance artist Emma McFarland worked with children from Out’n’Sinc Dance Club at Millennium School to create a site specific dance celebration in response to the natural and built environments. The film also shows highlights from the performance in Peninsula Square, choreographed by Temujin Gill.

Dancing on the Peninsula is a collaboration between Art on Greenwich Peninsula and Greenwich Dance Agency and is part of Greenwich Council's Cultural Olympiad programme.

The project was supported by Greenwich Council.
