Greenwich peninsula is being transformed from a derelict brownfield site into a sustainable new community. It is a place in the making, and one of the most important development sites in London. The 15-20 year regeneration programme will create a new urban district for London including residential and business communities, health, education, leisure and retail facilities. The river creates a dramatic background for the new developments. Park areas and a natural environment including the Ecology Park are an essential part of the peninsula landscape.
To the south of the peninsula is Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV - the first of the Government’s seven innovative Millennium Communities.
