Further information
Greenwich peninsula is being transformed from a derelict brownfield site into a sustainable new community. It is a place in the making, and one of the most important development sites in London. The 15-20 year regeneration programme will create a new urban district for London including residential and business communities, health, education, leisure and retail facilities. The river creates a dramatic background for the new developments.
The £5 billion regeneration of the north of the peninsula, to a masterplan by Terry Farrell and Partners led by Greenwich Peninsula Regeneration Ltd working with English Partnerships, the national regeneration agency and landowner, will create a thriving new riverside community. It includes over 10,000 new homes in distinct residential neighbourhoods; 24,000 permanent jobs; Peninsula Central - a new business district for London; 150 new shops and restaurants; 1.6 miles of river frontage - the distance between Waterloo and London Bridge and open spaces and parks equivalent to the size of Green Park.
Current projects include Ravensbourne College of Design & Communication by Foreign Office Architects; a major office development by Terry Farrell and Partners; residential buildings by FLACQ Architects, Stock Woolstencroft and Jestico & Whiles Architects.
All walks need to be booked via the London Festival of Architecture website
